Event #209, 18 May 2019

It may have been a pretty soggy morning but that didn't dampen anyone's spirits. This week 288 people braved the rain and ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 42 were first timers and 54 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 31 different clubs took part.

Massive thanks to the amazing volunteers who gave up their time and were still smiling at the end despite being soaked! What a super team today, everything ran smoothly and made my job as RD an easy one. Thank you!

The event was made possible by 22 high vis heroes:

Chris RUSSELL • David LIMMER • David SORENSEN • Jenny BUSH • Emma LOUGHEED • Laura PRENTICE • Lisa DRYBURGH • Nicola FIELDING • Thomas MURPHY • Thomaas MALCOLM • Dorothy GROOBY • Anne FEIST • Claire Cakes MATHIESON • Andrew MYLNE • Rhona MYLNE • Eric MCPHAIL • Caroline DESMULLIEZ • Marc DESMULLIEZ • Dariusz WEDGE • Hannah NICHOLSON • Fraser MAY • David MILNE

We have a full roster for next Saturday 25th May. But the whole of June is looking rather empty. We have been struggling a little for volunteers recently. Please consider helping, all the roles are really easy and a full briefing is given before the start. If you can help please email in with your barcode number to portobello@parkrun.com

Finish Tokens

We received a full set of finish tokens back this week. Thank you!

Congratulations to Andrew Stothers for completing your 100th parkrun today. If you have a milestone coming up please let us know and we will give you a shout out.

We had a fair amount of barcodes that wouldn't scan today, mostly due to being soggy from the rain. This creates extra work for the team so please consider laminating or cover your barcodes  in sticky tape to prevent this happening. You can also purchase wristbands and cards and tags from the parkrun website as another option.
