Another lovely morning for parkrun. It is always nice to be able to wear shorts and t-shirt when we volunteer; it doesn’t happen often so we’ll take the nice weather when we can get it. Even the swans behaved themselves eventually. Thanks Ciara for keeping them under control.
We had visitors from as far afield as Perth, WA, as well as various places around the UK such as Tring and Gateshead.
We got a full set of finish tokens back this morning. Thank you everybody!
Congratulations to Romelei Adrian Laurezo on joining the 100 club.
Congratulations to Leah Bartlett on joining the 50 club. Happy 16th birthday Leah! Congratulations also to Holly Watson and Rebecca Jack on also joining the 50 club.
Three people each on 49 and 99 runs this week so look out for more milestones next week.
Well done to David Limmer, coming in first comfortably under 17 minutes. Well done also to Catherine Cowie, first lady, in a new PB of 20:18. The legend that is Lorenzo Pacitti had another storming run to set yet another PB. He used the additional time to clear up after messy seagulls, and still managed to get into work before I’d processed the results. All in all, this week 306 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 50 were first timers and 42 recorded fantastic new Personal Bests. Representatives of 20 different clubs took part. Very well done all of you!
Very best of luck for anyone competing this weekend. It is the 7 hills of Edinburgh race tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
