It was a beautiful sunny morning for the 172 runners who completed the 78th Prospect parkrun on Christmas Day. There was a great atmosphere and a large number of people in Santa hats and other festive fancy dress. I did enjoy the Christmas music being played round the course by one runner. Christmas parkrun was definitely a highlight of the year and it was lovely to be able to wish Happy Christmas to so many of the people I have got to know at prospect parkrun.

The main briefing was given by our Run Director Nicola who recognised a number of people who were celebrated parkrun milestones on Christmas Day which included 25 volunteering events for Caleb LANCASTER & Anne LANCASTER.

We also had three Christmas Day birthdays!

Thank you to all the volunteers many of whom were dressed for the occasion and especially the high vis Hero with the Quality Street!

Congratulations to Ryan from Reading AC who finished first and to Sarah from Thames Valley Triathletes who was the first lady to take a token.

The course was very muddy this week but we still had 10 people who achieved personal bests. We had 36 people new to Prospect parkrun or new to the parkrun family. Congratulations also to Toby from South Africa. Great to see so many seasonal visitors. We hope you come back next time you have reason to be in Reading.
This week 172 people ran, jogged and walked the course,
