We like to be thorough here at Prudhoe, so our eager volunteers were left waiting while we did a VERY careful course check, to make sure the course was still there, and to assess the safety. It definitely wasn't because we sauntered around having a chat. Definitely not that.
This week saw parkrun reach the grand old age of 15! But...errm...we didn't have any cake to celebrate. Instead, I took full advantage of the PA system to belt out a corking rendition of 'Happy Birthday', which really seemed to spur you all on!
Charlie Downing was celebrating her birthday too (we don't know if she got cake or not) and Julie Pringle completed her 250th parkrun! Congratulations to you both! They were only two of the 130 parkrunners who graced our course, 24 went home with new PB's, possibly helped by our lovely blue vested Pacers...what with it being pacer week.
Things were looking a bit sketchy towards the end of the week with regards to volunteers, and the event just can't happen without them, so thank you to my team of absolute superheroes!

Do you want to be called an 'absolute superhero' and look dead cool in a hi-viz vest? Of course you do, and all that's needed is to check our roster to see what's available - https://www.parkrun.org.uk/prudhoeriverside/futureroster/ - then email your preferred role and barcode number to firstname.lastname@example.org
Now, our next parkrun promises to be something very special. One of our beloved Event Directors celebrate their 40th Birthday and will complete their 50th parkrun. If there isn't cake, I'll eat my 25 volunteer parkrun t shirt. There could well also be some...other surprises too.
See you all there, don't forget your barcode!
