Prudhoe Riverside parkrun 14 March 2020 Run Report

First of all this week – Happy 41st Birthday to Jamie Irvine. Unfortunately, the request to give him a mention didn’t reach me until I returned from parkrun this morning, so Nicky Hitchings wasn’t able to embarrass him in person. This is the next best thing. Hope you have a great day, Jamie (and feel free to get your own back on Nicky at some future date).

Friday 13th was World Sleep Day, but, thankfully, only one of our volunteers took full advantage and slept in. The rest of the troupe turned up raring to go at 8.30am, much to my relief!

This week Prudhoe Medical Group and Branch End surgery were staging a parkrun volunteer roster takeover, with the help of a few regulars (Haydn’s disco corner just isn’t the same without Haydn, dad Richard, and dancing Steve). Thank you to everyone who donned our new pink hi-vis and cheered our 155 parkrunners round the course:

Richard WEYMES • Paul GRIFFIN • Jane MORTON • Paul RAFFERTY • Rebecca KENYON • Sam DORNAN • Steven BRADY • Richard HESLOP • Haydn WEYMES • Janine CALKIN • Shona MCCREEDY • Lorien DORNAN • John GREEN • Debbie BEEKS • Catherine GREEN • Susan BLACK • Joseph GREEN • Gordon STEWART • Neil ATKINSON • Katie ATKINSON • Gordon ALLAN • Janice DE VERE • Deborah LANGFORD • Joan RUSSELL

We had 25 first time visitors to Prudhoe Riverside, with eight of you completing your first ever parkrun, and 18 new Personal Bests. Well done to all of you. Representatives of 24 different clubs took part, including visitors from Bishops Stortford and Market Harborough. Welcome, we hope you enjoyed our parkrun.

Finally, congratulations to Luke Page (JM11-14) who completed his 50th parkrun today (sporting a blue Mohican in celebration) and Helen Lee, who also completed her 50th, but (to the best of my knowledge) didn’t have a special haircut for the occasion.

Hope to see you all next Saturday, so #dfyb!
