Raphael parkrun Report #235
The park is looking lovely with the tree leaves turning orange, yellow and red as we reach the height of Autumn. You may not have noticed but one of our volunteers had swept the course free of the worst of the fallen leaves to avoid trip hazards. Great job by that man! And a big thank you to all of our volunteers today. As Louise (our Run Director today) said at the run briefing, we can always do with more volunteers, so please reach out to the team if you can help in future weeks.
Our parkrunners and volunteers were pleased to see that the rain stayed away for the 9am start, although there was a bit of light drizzle to cool off runners at the end of their run. All told, it was a rather good morning for a run. Temperatures were good for the time of year and there was no real breeze, so it was a good opportunity for a PB, perhaps? Well, 45 of you obviously thought so, as you recorded your best 5k parkrun time. Others missed out by the narrowest of margins, including myself, who was buggy free for the first time in a while!
We welcomed 285 runners, joggers and walkers today with some tourists, from as far afield as Leeds and Wales, and some closer to home too, Brentwood and Chelmsford. You are all welcome and hope you enjoyed our park and community.
We had four milestones to celebrate this week. Nicola Coles (one of our regular Run Directors) reached the phenomenal total of 250 runs. She was our tail walker today, so hopefully you had enough energy to congratulate her if you ran past her. Other congratulations goes to Jane Ludlow and Chris Morgan were completed their 100th milestone today and Karen Bellerby reached her 50 milestone.
