Time for another parkrunner profile and today it's turn of Jenette Ogborn.
Jenette has completed 16 parkruns in total, 8 of those at Raphael. She has also run at Harrow Lodge, Mersea Island and Lowestoft parkruns.
She has worn the volunteer high vis and been a marshal for us too. Thank you for your support of Raphael parkrun, Jenette!
So here is Jenette's profile. Enjoy x
When did you take part in your first parkrun event at Raphael?
What made you come along that very first time? How did you hear about parkrun? Did someone encourage you to come along?
My sister signed me up for a charity 5k in aid of first steps, which was held at Raphaels so we agreed to go and practice the route. We had never ran before and used the couch 2 5k app to get us fitter.
Since then I joined a running club H90 joggers and have ran a 10k 10miler and my 1st half marathon I also had a tattoo to mark them all, with room for more
I love parkrun because...
I get to run with my sister and love seeing people achieving goals they didn't think were possible. So far 2 of my daughters have ran with me my brother in law and nephew its a family affair.
Which is your favourite volunteer role and why?
I loved my 1st time marshalling up by the end of the tennis courts, watching all those people pushing themselves and still smiling was great. I know how nice it is to hear the encouragement when your thinking its to hard. I'm really looking forward to volunteering again when everything's back to normal.
Anything else? Such as who you come along with, favourite Raphael parkrun memory, favourite part of the course, milestone memories, fun facts about you...
Favourite part of the course is always the end lol
