After two wet and miserable Saturday mornings there was a dramatic change in the weather with a hot sun and all those puddles had dried up. What a difference a week can make.

Today’s Run Director was Susan Rogers and it was very nice to notice that there was near silence as she did the pre-run briefing. It is important that everyone is quiet and listening as it is an essential part of parkrun, so please be respectful, even if you have heard it many times before.

Susan was majestically supported by 28 noble volunteers. Brilliantly done every one of you.

The volunteer roster for August is looking fairly healthy but has spaces to be filled, particularly on 17th August. To view the roster and see where the gaps are, click here: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/riddlesdown/futureroster/ Please remember without volunteers parkrun would not exist. Please contact riddlesdown@parkrun.com if you can assist.

The hot weather saw an increase in numbers, and there were 231 finishers, 33 were doing their first parkrun at Riddlesdown, and 15 were doing their first ever parkrun. Well done and hope to see you all again. Given the conditions there were also an impressive 39 personal bests.
