I feel a bit of a fraud writing a run report today as I was not actually at Roundhay on Saturday. I missed what must have been a splendid event as one of our stellar runners , Tim Straughan, completed his 100th run. Tim is one of our Roundhay regulars, invariably in the first ten to cross the line with a sub 20 time, and a volunteer too. Massive congratulations Tim!
Although the numbers a little down this week, 106 runners, (probably due to summer holidays) there was a significant number of PBs, four of them in the first ten. Special mentions go to:
Max Partington 21: 03, who knocked 27 seconds from his previous PB
Matthew Brown 22:22, 25 seconds faster than the last week’s PB
Paul Barrett 24:37, fifth PB in a row at Roundhay
James Balkwill 25:59, 39 seconds off last week’s PB
Harjeet Nanagla 29:00 a new milestone
A huge thank you goes to Steve on his brilliant RD role and his team of volunteers. I bet there were no funnel duckers! Next Saturday, Jonathan Brown will be the RD after completing his 99th run this week. The volunteer schedule is looking rather bare at the moment; do think about volunteering over the coming weeks.
