Another perfect day for PBs: 176 runners took part in Saturday’s run and 50 of them achieved a PB. There were nine new runners to parkrun and eight visitors. Someone mentioned afterwards that it was nice for new runners to be welcomed during the run briefing.
Special congratulations go to David Ellis who ran his 50th parkrun today AND shaved that vital second from his previous PB with a time of 19:56. What more could you hope for? There were four PBs in the first ten runners to cross the line: David Penman, 18 :31,Mick Loftus 18: 36, in the second and third place and Alex Pagdin 19:02.
Amongst our younger runners Sam Moore shaved thirty second from his PB with a new time of 22:33 and Dan Johnstone was pleased with his new time of 22:10.
Kate Barrett knocked 30 seconds off her previous time with a new PB of 26:19 . Harjeet Nangla broke the 29 minute barrier with a new time of 28:40.
Congratulations too to James Preston on his tenth run which means that he will join the white tee shirt club!
Huge thanks go Jonathan Brown as this week’s RD and his team of volunteers which really add to friendly atmosphere at Roundhay. Becky Fishburn has taken over the role of volunteer coordinator after Graham Pawley’s nine month stint. Special thanks go to both. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other runners and it is enjoyable.
