Great excitement at neighbouring parkrun, Temple Newsam, with an ‘Adidas boost’ event with the chance to try on new Adidas footwear and gear and to meet and pose with the Brownlee brothers. Watch out for the photos! Congratulations to Temple Newsam on a hugely successful event (and also to Adidas).
Well, at Roundhay we did not have the Brownlee brothers but perhaps in years to come we will be reminiscing that we ran with Alex Pagdin, one of a regular junior runners. He was the first to cross the line this week with a new PB of 18:13 – his third PB of September. Huge congratulations to him.
It was a good week for female runners with PBs for the first three ladies to finish:
Kate Bell 21:42
Julia Davies 21:46
Sharon Woodruff 21: 58
Out of the 174 runners who took part this morning there were 44 runners with PBs so quite a few smiling faces. Special mentions go to Dawn Parton (26: 19) and Eleanor Currie (24:48) who both achieved a third PB of September. Howard Smith managed to knock over two minutes from his previous time with a PB of 23: 37. Of course, you don’t need to get a PB to end with a smile. Part of this is due to the ever cheerful bunch of volunteers, today headed by Run Director Andy Pagdin. Massive thanks to all of them. All that cheering and encouragement is much appreciated.
A couple of runners completed their tenth run this week and so qualified for a lovely WHITE tee shirt:
Congratulations to you- only 40 more runs to get another tee shirt.
Although there is no special tee shirt for Graham Pawley he completed his 150th run today. A major milestone – well done.
You can get the full results for Saturday on our website.
Did anyone get a place in the ballot for VLM 2014?
