A glorious morning at Roundhay this week. After the inclement weather of the last few weeks, it looks as though summer might well have arrived.
To celebrate, we had 362 runners, joggers and walkers with us of which 33 were doing parkrun for the very first time and 23 ran with us at Roundhay for the first time as tourists.
Massive congratulations to Ian Sanderson who ran his 400th parkrun (that's 2000km, the distance from Leeds to Skózec parkrun) and the incredible 55 people who hit a new PB.
We had a team from Leeds Organ donation with us this morning, turning the field of runners pink with their vests and t shirts and ensuring every finisher had a sweet, a drink, a mini football and/or a frisbee as well as enticing many of us to sign up to donate - if you didn’t have the chance, check out their website here.
Massive thanks, as ever, to the volunteers and our race director Hannah - who threatened to use our new PA to do karaoke - maybe next time Hannah! If you would like to volunteer, please email us here and pop your name down.
Till next week...
