This morning was Roundhays 450th event. It was a bit of a gloomy day with the weather but many reasons to be cheerful. It's nearly Christmas! plus today is the shortest day of the year, it will get a little lighter everday for 6 months.
290 people walked, jogged or ran this morning with 22 first timers. It was made possible by 23 volunteers in the very capable hands of our run director Andy. Huge thanks to all the volunteers.
There were lots of milestones today. Ian Thornton, Liz Ball, Mark Bolton and Paula Arrowsmith all ran their 50th. Lauren Beaver also completed her 100th. Congratulations on all your milestones.
Here's Ian in one of our milestone bibs
Don't forget we have a Christmas Day parkrun at Roundhay. It's on at 9am and you are all welcome! Fancy dress is optional, I'll be going for the simple but classic santa hat
Finally a view from the back of the pack today. It's a great sight to see all the parkrunners around the course.
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas from all of the Roundhay parkrun core team.
