Roundhay parkrun event report 453

What a brilliant way to start 2020! 498 fresh faced parkrunners braved the wind and the cold January start for event number 453, the first Roundhay parkrun of the new decade.

We welcomed 65 newbies to the gentle hills of Roundhay park this week – well done to each and every one of you and we hope to see you again soon.

This week’s run was made possible by a team of 25 volunteers who gave up their Saturday morning in the aid of parkrun. You’re all fantastic and we hope you’ve warmed up!

If you’ve never volunteered, or haven’t done so in a while, please get in touch to offer your services, and don’t forget that when you have done that 25 times you are entitled to claim a purple milestone T-shirt. If we all volunteer a few times a year it helps to spread the workload rather than relying on the same faces each week, and who knows, you might even enjoy it. There’s plenty of roles available and something for everyone!

Have a great week folks. The days are getting lighter and it will soon be spring. Put on those running shoes and we’ll see you again next week!
