Royal Tunbridge Wells parkrun

This week 200 people ran, jogged and walked our 5km, 2-lap course, of whom 8 were parkrun tourists, 10 were first timers to parkrun, 21 were unknown (either not registered or forgotten their barcode) and of the returning 161 people, an impressive 19 recorded new Personal Bests!
You Run Director this week was Louise Fitzgerald and during her pre-run briefing she welcomed Emma Deasy to the parkrun junior 10 club, David Wildman to the 50 club, Emily Mullett to the volunteer 25 club and finally a shout out to Gabriella Baguley who was to run her 100th parkrun. Congratulations to all on your achievements. Finally, Louise also mentioned that next week (10th February) we invite you to bring a loved one & dress in red for our Valentine's special event.

Whilst over on Facebook we recevied a lovely reply from Fiona Horne - "We loved our first parkrun! Thanks to everyone for being so lovely and welcoming. See you on Saturday! The Horne Family (3 hares and one tortoise!!)"

Finally, a Royal Tunbridge Wells parkrun fact. This was only the 2nd time in the history of our event (189 events) where we witnessed a female first finisher - the last such occasion being on 28th February 2015!
