A few dates for your diary……..

Our friends over at Sweatshop (one of parkruns principle sponsors) have asked us to share news of the forthcoming Robin Hood festival of running on 29th September 2013 - One day, three races...

"The Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon takes place on a proven flat and fast
course.  It's an ideal course for beginners,
improvers, seasoned professionals all the way through to elites.

Plus the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon is back in 2013.  Following the same route as
the Half Marathon until mile 11 this fast and flat course takes you around
the City Centre, along the tree-lined University Boulevard and through the
Trent building courtyard at the University of Nottingham, one of the most
iconic buildings in Nottingham. From there you will head back towards the
City Centre and Trent Bridge, where you will proceed towards Colwick Country
Park and the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont Country Park
before winding your way along the river to the finish at Victoria
The Ikano Robin Hood Mini Marathon and Schools Challenge is run over a 2.5
Kilometre (1.5 mile) beautiful route along the river Trent. It’s open to
absolutely anyone and is ideal for runners looking for a shorter distance

Titbits- stolen from Colwick parkrun news page

It's all just as relevant whichever side of the river you choose to run on!

"Turkey Trot race numbers arrived at the notional ‘Colwick office’ last week and it reminded us to share this link with you. We like the way it’s been written (by our fast friend Mr Graham Moffatt based on the Furman FIRST model), and actually we just love the title!
So if you are lucky enough to be one of the 1100 runners who booked in before it sold out do check out the ‘TTTT’ (Turkey Trot Training Timetable) here > http://www.fourlife.com/news/turkey_trot

Talking of popular events, entries for 2013 Thunder Run are now open. Colwick parkrun event team are already booked in! Check it out here > http://www.tr24.co.uk/index.html
It’s a brilliant experience and we highly recommend it. And see if you can spot Graham on the home page...

One of our runners has asked us to highlight the plight of Mansfield Harriers. Please see the link below for details."
