That has to be some kind of record? 31 PBs on this lovely sunny, albeit a bit humid, morning. The gong of glory has rarely sounded so often, a majestic cymbal symbolling success across the paddock.
165 people took part today, with one 50th milestone (congrats Matthew!) and a tourist all the way from Thirsk.
Edward Lee was first man home, in 18.42, and first lady in was Emily Bowen in 22.53. But equally worthy of mention is Ben Ahmet smashing his PB in a time of 41.51 in only his 3rd park run - fab effort Ben!
And special mention to tail runner Steph, for her first time back out in trainers since three became four, and for bringing our event to a close in 53.19.
I cannot say this often enough - whatever your age or speed you are welcome at parkrun, you'll be cheered over the line. 5k in 15 mins or 5k in 65 mins, it's still 5k!
A final word of thanks to our volunteers, whatever the website is saying at the moment, about the number that brought you this event, I know it would not have been the same without: Talia Pepper, Keith Phillips, Elena Brooks, Michael Sharman, Laura Brine, Oliver Lambert, Carl Langford (extra big thank you for stepping in last minute) Jon Riley, Fiona Towell, Julia Bell, David Ayers, Steph Nash, Fiona Weekes, Chris Stenner, Chris Warby, Stephen Moore, Christine Ayers, Mark Kleanthous and Clare Kleanthous.
Have a great week all
