Windy run 208

On a very blustery day, when our gong got blown over, 79 runners managed to get out of bed, beat the elements, ignore the rugby and run a damp Rushmere course strewn with sweet chestnut seeds to make the going a little trickier than normal. Amazingly we had 5 PB's against all the odds. Well done you five.

We had 9 new runners who had remembered their barcodes and a few who didn't. I hope you will all come back and try again.
We entertained runners from Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Torquay and Maidenhead.

First male home was Ashley Gamble in a PB time 20:54 with Matt Styrka in second place just 10 seconds off his PB.

First lady was first timer Suzanne Janes from Littledown Harriers in 23:21 and second lady was Louisa Rothery in 24:46

I hope to see many of you next week.
Regards

New Year

What better way to start the New Year than at Rushmere parkrun start time is 9am

Event 203

This week 184 runners and walkers tried the Rushmere course, which was very dusty due to the prolonged absence of rain. We welcomed 30 first timers to the Rushmere experience and with 38 personal bests the gong took a beating. We had tourists from Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Ware, St.Albans and Thailand. I hope you all enjoyed our friendly course. Please come again.
My sincere thanks to all our volunteers, without whom there would be no parkrun.
As our 4th birthday is coming up (9th November) can you all remember that the theme will be fancy dress (anything you like). The Rushmere core team have opted to be fairies so if any of you bakers fancy baking a few fairy cakes for the occasion they will be warmly received.
I look forward to running with you all again soon.
Regards
Dave
