Run Report Number 112 – 20th January 2018

Weather conditions were still, cold and wet. There were 203 enthusiastic, runners, joggers and walkers from as far afield as Gateshead, Kent, Lincoln and Kettering who took part in the Rutland Water parkrun.

A warm welcome was given to the visiting tourists and the 38 first-timers who all went on to complete the course. In total, some 43 runners achieved a personal best time.

A well earned round of applause was also given to the outgoing Event Director and Rutland Water parkrun founder Manjinder Jagdev in recognition of her services to Rutland Water parkrun.

Notable achievements on the day were from:
Kristopher Russell a first timer from Gateshead was the first athlete to cross the finish line in a time of 17:01.
In second place was Andrew Shackleton from Stamford who completed the course with his dog Woody in a respectable time of 17:56.
The first female athlete to cross the finish line was Hannah Drewett from Stamford who was third overall completing the course in a time of 18:47 just outside of her personal best.
Eight-year old Toby Gaul from Oakham out sprinted dad Richard at the finish to come home in a time of 26:01.

Phil Tobin from North Luffenham put in a strong finish coming home in time of 26:25. Matthew Middleton from Colsterworth finished fast completing the course in a time of 31:44.

A big thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who pulled together on the day to make things happen and without whom our parkrun event would not be possible.
A special thank you to Liz Makin for processing the results on the day.

Happy park-running!
Lawrence Francis (Run Director on the day)
