New Year’s Day parkrun!

Jump for joy!

We're pleased to announce that Sale Water parkrun will be hosting an event on New Year's Day 2018(*), at 10:30am.

This will give you the chance to "do the double" on the only day of the year where parkrun allows that sort of thing.

To find other parkruns nearby where you could run before coming to us, take a look at the parkrun Christmas Compendium, listing all parkruns in the UK and who is on and off on Christmas and New Year's Days.

(*) subject to us getting enough volunteers to be able to put the event on safely. If you can help please get in touch on salewaterhelpers@parkrun.com. Simply put, if we don't get enough offers of help, we will have to cancel our NYD run.

Christmas and New Year’s Day parkruns

Volunteer Team

We've had lots of enquiries about whether we're putting on an event on either Christmas Day, New Year's Day or both.

As a Core Team, we've decided against hosting a Christmas Day parkrun, simply because none of us will be around to help out. But New Year's Day is still open to discussion.

We need to make a decision, and update the Christmas Compendium by 30th November otherwise we are automatically opted out of hosting one, but the decision will be based on getting enough volunteers to fill the roster. We appreciate that 1st January seems like quite a way off now to be knowing what you'll be doing, but it'll soon come around!

So, its over to you...

If you can help us by volunteering on New Year's Day, please get in touch ASAP. At the time of writing we have just over a week and a half to get the makings of a team together.

If we go ahead on New Year's Day, we are likely to be starting at 10:30am, so you'll still get a lie in, and we'll only need around an hour/90 minutes of your time. You'll be back home to finish off the last of those turkey sandwiches by lunch time! ;)

Stretford parkrun are hosting an event at 9am, so you could run with them, and volunteer with us, or vice versa!

So please, get in touch with us either by email, on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram if you can help us by volunteering your time.

parkrun cannot happen without the help and support of volunteers in the running community, their friends, family and supporters, and the neighbourhoods in which we put events on.

Thank you
