Sheringham parkrun Event number 378 7th March 2020

We hope the 151 people who ran, jogged and walked our out and back route this morning enjoyed the glorious sunshine and lovely views of Sheringham Park and of course those hills back to the finish. Of those who took part 30 were experiencing Sheringham Park for the first time, including Robert and Louise Hutchinson from Osterley parkrun and their Australian labradoodle.

A special congratulations must go to 19 runners who achieved new Personal Bests and in particular Jon Phillips in the Age Group VM50-54, who came 4th in a fantastic time of 20.14, shaving more than half a minute of his previous P.B. Well done Jon.

In terms of milestone congratulations to Duncan Green one of our regular runners on completing his 100th parkrun and also first timer at Sheringham Claire Pearson on her 50th parkrun.

As usual special thanks goes to today’s Run Director Richard West and the following volunteers who made the event possible, Gary Linder, Sally Davenport, Phil King, Kay King, Colleen Hyam, Jeremy Bolam, Jan Cooper, Karen West, Stephen Higgs, Amanda Marshall, Chris Bean, Fiona Morrison and Keith Beswick, who also celebrated his birthday today.

If you have not previously volunteered at Sheringham parkrun or have not volunteered for some time we would love to hear from you as we still have a number of volunteering opportunities later in March and throughout April. See the future volunteer roster at www.parkrun.org.uk/sheringham/futureroster/.

Finally don’t forget that next Saturday 14th March it's time to don your football shirts for David's Run. David Acott, was one of our regular runners, keen sportsman and football supporter, hence the football shirts, who died after a short battle with cancer in 2015.
Each year we dedicate a parkrun to his memory and this year, although there is clearly no obligation to contribute, we will be collecting for the King's College Hospital Children's Transplant Team.

In addition, we would greatly appreciate if any bakers could bring cakes which can be sold after the run to boost the collection, and which runners can enjoy along with a well earned coffee in the Courtyard.
