It was a lovely sunny day for this morning’s Sunderland parkrun, number 481, with a light breeze and hopefully not too hot for all you athletes out there.
226 runners crossed the finish line, first home being Aidan Crowe of Sunderland Harriers in a time of 17:50, with Janet Atkinson of Holme Pierrepont RC the first lady back. Her time was 21:19, a new PB.
Of the juniors, Lucy Mutch was first home in position 36 in 22:58 with Archie Gordon hot on her heels in position 38 and a time of 23:04. Both achieved new PBs.
There were several visitors with us this morning, including some I believe from Doncaster, and five first timers. Welcome to you all.
There were 30 personal bests this morning, across the whole field – well done to everyone. And well done to everyone who didn’t achieve a PB today, as we all know it’s about taking part, keeping fit, having fun and making friends. Well done also to all of our volunteers, without whom, as we know, parkrun could not happen.
Finally, just a reminder or in case you missed it, Sunderland parkrun will NOT be on next week 27th April as there is another event on in the park. There are plenty other great parkruns nearby – including Riverside, South Shields and others further afield.
