Santa hat, angel wings or a mince pie?

Sat 22nd Dec come along dressed up to celebrate Christmas. We want to see a plethora of Santa hats, Santa outfits, elf costumes, fairies, angels, shepherds, wise men (we'll be lucky), cows/sheep (one per parkrunner on a short lead), Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus (within arms length of a responsible adult) and any other costumes even vaguely related to the Christmas period and in however a manner you choose to celebrate it. This is your Sunderland parkrun family and it's our Christmastime parkrun together. Everyone, it's time to twinkle twinkle and sparkle like a little parkrun star.

Sunderland foodbank Saturday

Happy midweek everyone. This coming Saturday will be our first parkrun of November and hence we’ll be holding our usual Sunderland foodbank collection. There is absolutely no expectation that you will donate, but if you are able and you would like to, the foodbank is most in need of Tinned Fruit, Tinned Fish, Coffee, Custard, Rice Pudding and Tinned Potatoes/Instant Mash. (They have plenty of Beans, Dried Pasta, UHT milk, Cereal and Biscuits). Thank you. Please note, we will also have a student coming along who is making a film for Sunderland Foodbank.

Popping out to the shops?

This Saturday is our '1st Sat of the month Sunderland foodbank collection', so if you can bring along any long life foodstuffs that would be great. They are in particular need of tinned fruit, tinned fish, coffee, custard, rice pudding, tinned potatoes/instant mash. (They have plenty of beans, dried pasta, UHT milk, cereal and biscuits.)

Foodbank collection Sat 2nd June

This coming Saturday is the first parkrun of June so we will be holding our regular 'first parkrun of the month Sunderland foodbank collection'. If you're going shopping this week and can add a little extra into your trolley, they are most in need of Longlife milk, tinned fruit, sponge puddings and tinned vegetables. Thank you.

A busy parkrun day lies ahead…

It’s midweek and as we look forward, there is a lot going on this weekend. As well as Foodbank donation day, it’s the continuation of our litter pick mentioned in last week’s run report (http://www.parkrun.org.uk/sunderland/news/2018/04/29/what-a-load-of-rubbish-aka-the-latest-run-report/); we will be bringing along litter grabbers and some bags if you have 5 minutes to help out. If that wasn’t enough, Sunderland College will be providing volunteers for the event, supported by parkrun volunteers. We look forward to seeing you all.

Reminder – Santa Run and food bank collection this Saturday

A reminder it is our Santa Run this Saturday and we will be doing a collection for our local food bank. In addition to what was previous posted, they would also like long life fruit juice, pasta sauce and cans of tuna. Since the food bank collection is closed over Christmas, we will only be able to drop things off first thing in the New Year (just in case you were thinking of donating Christmas items).

Santa Run on Sat 23rd Dec

Our annual Santa Run will be on December 23rd and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible wearing your favourite festive outfits to run, jog, walk, volunteer. This year we will be collecting items for the local food bank. Currently, they particularly need tinned fruit (400g), tea bags (80s), dried pasta (500g), UHT milk (1L), breakfast cereals. They have plenty of beans and sugar. Please bring what you can.

Countdown to Sunderland parkrun #408

parkrun days are always special but this Saturday is extra special. Firstly, it marks 13 years since parkrun first began. We invite you to wear your apricot tops, your milestone tops, or your favourite tops and bring along your barcode to celebrate International parkrun Day.

We will also be celebrating 8 years of Sunderland parkrun. In the evening, we'll be at the Tipsy Cow pub from 7:30pm... please join us. As always there will be some sort of parkrun based quiz!
