A smooth second event for our new parkrun!

Welcome to the run report for Somerdale Pavilion parkrun's second week in existence. It was my first time as a Run Director but it was made easier by the volunteers who all helped out and proved it seriously is a team effort and not possible to put the event on without them. Many of today's volunteers had never even volunteered before, so a special thanks to them. Let us know if you can help out at future events by emailing somerdalepavilionhelpers@parkrun.com.

This is what the Curly Wurly in action looked like today! It really is something like no other parkrun.24-November-2018 Somerdale Pavilion parkrun Concerned we might be inundated (for the fear of delivering my first ever run briefing to hundreds...), it was welcome news for me at least to see we had only a similar number of runners as last week (slightly fewer in fact). This week 156 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 124 were first timers here and 11 recorded new Personal Bests. 18 people were completely new to parkrun which is fantastic! 24-November-2018 Somerdale Pavilion parkrun  We are able to use this course thanks to agreements with ShamXross and the private land owners.  We'll be there every Saturday morning at parkrun o'clock whilst conditions permit, but it's only on parkrun days we have permission to use the land, so freedom parkruns aren't possible here.

The core team are getting to grips with setting up the course each week (which involves small tweaks to the cyclo-cross route), and we hope our regular runners start to become familiar with the route too.

We look forward to welcoming you to our event in the future, whether as a first timer, regular runner or volunteer! Get involved!

Until next week....
