We are now on Event number 9 and our numbers are regularly around the healthy 100-150 mark. So what's the attraction?
Is it the nice squelchy mud, the all off road course, the now infamous Curly Wurly or even the breakfast in the Pavilion?
Whatever it is, we are regularly attracting more visitors than regulars at this stage whilst we grow and develop. I love the fact that visitors are coming from all over the country. This week we had visitors from Croydon, Reading, Yeovil, Chippenham and even the hallowed Bushy.
This week there were 141 of you plus 15 volunteers, 79 of you were first timers to Somerdale and 18 of those first timers to parkrun totally - we hope you enjoyed yourselves 24 of you managed a new pb and there were 6 unknowns.
Please remember that there is a very strict no barcode-no time rule so please remember to bring it every week. Also if you really don't have it - remember to hand your tokens back at the end, we appear to be missing tokens 103 and 107, if you have these please contact us to arrange their return.
Just a reminder as people have asked - we have a large tarpaulin to keep belongings on - this was well used this week.
Finally a note on parking charges from the 5th January where the machines were frozen
We understand that the ticket machine was frozen on 5 January and as a result a number of people have received fines through the post. If you have received a fine then please contact Mark at the Somerdale Pavilion (0117 986 5787) with your car registration and he will speak to SmartParking to arrange for the fine to be waived.
If you plan to parkrun with us more than three or four times a year we recommend joining the Somerdale Pavilion social club. Membership costs c£25 and includes free parking for the whole year, meaning you won't need to queue up for the machine each time! You also get discounts in the cafe.
Until next week
