Well that escalated quickly…….

What a week we had this week!

When I started writing this run report I had an idea of where it was going to go, however a day or two after (I'm a slow writer) it soon became apparent that something else was emerging. I posted a video taken by Tina Dury of the Curly Wurly in action and it appears to have gone viral - well for us anyway - our most engaged post, lots of comments and shares and lots of positive reactions as well as lots of promises to come visit.

See for yourself

If you haven seen the video yet you can find it here

This week we had our second largest attendance at 162 - I think by the comments and promises to visit we may beat our highest attendance record of 187 next week

We had some visitors from far and wide - Colin Philips came all the way from Washington DC, however when I asked in the brief if anyone could top that, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually be able to but we had a very welcome visitor from Cape Town!!

We also had 8 visitors from Black Pear Joggers and 4 from Shropshire Shufflers.

Of the 162 of you we had 66 1st timers – 6 of which was their first ever parkrun - We hope to see you again soon. there were 12 unknown runners - dfyb!

We had 84 "regulars" or at least returners - we are slowly but surely building up a core base of regular runners. A special mention must go out to our very own home grown Curly Wurly regular - Roberta Orchard who along with 36 others got another PB! - Roberta has run 17 runs in total, all at Somerdale, each week she gets stronger and stronger and its amazing to see week on week improvement - Well done Roberta.

Other current stars are our Chief Curly Wurly marshals - making sure you don't get lost.

And finally, this weeks star of the week is out very own Joan the Cone - its a long story but I'm sure Joan will be more than willing to share it with you on Saturday

This week I asked as many of you to come dressed in your most funky leggings - you didn't disappoint.

I enjoyed it so much  I might even do it again soon :-)

See you all again soon.
