We’re back!

So whilst myself and another unnamed RD in training were tentatively planning a spot of parkrun tourism elsewhere - the faithful Joan returned from her holidays to inspect the course and deemed it surprisingly good to go. Gone was all the standing water and it wasn't even majorly muddy bar from a few slippy corners.

Road trip cancelled, late Thursday and I hadn't even had a single volunteer on the roster - one single appeal later and clearly we had been missed as the key elements of the roster were filled in less than 2 hrs. Did I ever say we have the best volunteers??

Roll on to Saturday - me in charge, Joan as my sidekick and Tina acting as RD to "learn from the best"

A good turnout of 120 of you came, including our increasing core of regulars, obviously glad to be back at the Curly Wurly - or was it the Wurly Curly? The fact that the birthday reverse course plus extra curly wurly is actually far easy to set up, and seemingly more popular, it looks like it may stay. It better had,  as once I update the course description, I'm not changing it again!

Tina did awesome in control, obviously taught by the best, she even managed to get the results out in super fast time (clearly not helped by myself or Joan) We like her so we may actually keep her. We will give her a proper, more fitting launch as solo RD soon.

Lots of first timers to Somerdale and also lots of first timers to parkrun which was awesome - I hope you liked it and will return.

John P is in charge this week so yet another flawless event will be put on.

Enjoy as always, until next time
