Christmas 2018

Hello everyone

Yes we know it's only October but we are super organised and have some news to share with you regarding Christmas and New Year.

1. There will NOT be an additional event at South Shields on Christmas day. There may be other local events hosting a parkrun that day. Please check their event pages if you wish to run on Christmas Day. Gateshead usually have an event on Christmas Day

2. There will NOT be an additional event at South Shields on New Years Day. There will be other local events hosting a parkrun that day. you may even be able to run TWO! Events have the option to stagger start times between 8.30 and 10.30 on NYD.

3. There WILL be a Christmas parkrun party in the Bamburgh. The date for your diary is December 8th. Tickets are available behind the bar in the Bamburgh. If you've ran 1 parkrun or 200 parkruns everyone is welcome. There will be a buffet and a quiz.

Regards

Colin

Once again South Shields parkrun will not be hosting any extra events on either Christmas Day or New Years Day. Other local park runs maybe holding events on these days so if you want to run it will be worth keeping an eye on the parkrun Christmas compendium, link here http://www.parkrun.org.uk/christmas-compendium/

We will be running on New Years Eve and Christmas Eve as they both fall on a Saturday

South Shields parkrun is cancelled on Sept 10th

Unfortunately there will be no parkrun taking place at South Shields on Sept 10th due to the GNR setting up on the Leas. There are numbers delivery vehicles arriving throughout the morning and we cannot guarantee runners safety so we have taken the decision to cancel the event on this day.

We are aware a lot of you will be resting ahead of the GNR but if you still want to run a parkrun there are loads of great ones locally. Gateshead, Whitley Bay, Riverside, Gibside, and Sunderland to name a few.

Alternatively Tony The Fridge will hopefully completing his 99th of his 100 GNR in 100 days so you can still come down to the Bamburgh for a coffee and a cake around 10am to cheer him home
