Run report for 9th November 2019

The morning started with a course inspection, given the freezing temperatures last night. There were a couple of icy patches, which could have been dangerous, but with a couple of cones and Andrew Blair who stepped in to marshall at that point at the last minute, we got everyone round safely. George Graham also cycled and bussed in all the way from Twechar to be at the park for 8:30am to help your Run Director with the litter pick. Between us, we collected 3 bags worth.
Other than that, it was a beautiful morning for doing parkrun - cold and crisp, but with no wind and all the beautiful colours of the autumn leaves. 113 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 13 were first timers and 16 recorded new Personal Bests. Hopefully, a few people waved to Margaret as she watched the participants from her high perch in the Springburn flats.

Today's event was made possible by 13 volunteers, most of whom gave up their run to ensure the event went ahead:
Janice CLEMENT • Graham MUNRO • Helen CARROLL • Sheila TRAYNOR • Lorraine GRAY • Moira PATERSON • Robert DUNSMUIR • Jennifer Anne DOHERTY • Margaret WILSON • Andrew BLAIR • Donna KERR • Maura KENNY • George GRAHAM

We had a few issues with the results, but finally managed to get rid of the gremlins. The full results and a complete event history can be found on the Springburn parkrun results page.

Springburn parkrun, Glasgow started on 10th May 2014. Since then 4,266 participants have completed 26,079 parkruns covering a total distance of 130,395 km. A total of 419 individuals have volunteered 3,086 times.
