Staveley junior parkrun is cancelled on 2021-03-14 – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Well done to our 17 runners and 12 volunteers who has joined us today and a SUNNY junior parkrun.

Our day has begun with milestone wristbands presentations.

Eva has received her half-marathon wristband for completing 11 junior parkruns.

Yousef and Harry completed 21 junior parkruns each and received their marathon wristbands.

We try to keep a track of all the wristbands, but if your child is due to receive one, please speak to the Run Director before the event.

Today we have welcomed 5 first-junior-parkrun-timers: Hannah, Charlotte, Annabel, Isabelle and Emily Elisabeth. I hope you all enjoyed your run and we will see you back soon. It was also great to see Noah and Aden back, smiling all way round.

2nd Birthday – Event #102

Today we celebrated our second birthday by running and volunteering in fancy dress

It was great to see so many happy faces today. 18 runners, 16 volunteers and countless supporters, parents and siblings joined us this morning.

We celebrated our second birthday with our (now) traditional certificates of achievement.

Charlie and his sister Kitty had the record number of runs for male and female last year.

Euan had the most first finishers for male runners last year.

...and Grace for female runners!

Our event is only possible with the help of volunteers, who give up their time every week to ensure we have a fun and save event for everyone. Our last category celebrates all volunteers and those who helped the most Sundays. Last year Grace and her Mum Esther helped us 28 times each. And between all of their family members they volunteered 104 times. This is an average of 2 volunteers each week! Thank you guys - you are amazing!

After the run we had a mini picnic with cake and other homemade treats, contributed by everyone.

Event # 100

Well done to 13 runners and 12 volunteers who joined us for our 100th event.

We had Sam on warm up duties today. He has done a great job by adding some music to our usual warm-up routine. We enjoyed it a lot and we'll have Sam anytime again!

Jack has run his first parkrun - well done! Hope you and your mum enjoyed it and will be back soon. Finley and Sofia must have enjoyed it last week as they were back for their second parkrun today with their mum and grandma!

Don't forget it is our 2nd birthday on 26th January. We will be celebrating by running and maybe even volunteering in fancy dresses. There will be a cake - please feel free to bring some snacks and sweets to share.
