Event #148 Run Report

Stevenage parkrun
Event number 148
6th April 2019

The parkrun community gathered in Stevenage, under a cloudy grey sky, for the weekly event that draws a rich diversity of people together.

This week’s parkrun attracted 385 people who ran, jogged and walked the 5k course through Fairlands Valley Park where Spring was observed bursting into life; the daffodils being a beautiful example. There were 45 first timers and an impressive 87 recorded new Personal Bests. A measure of the growing popularity of the Stevenage parkrun was the presence of representatives of 25 different clubs.

Milestone runs were achieved by Scott Billings who ran his 100th and Toby Eccleshall who ran his 50th. Huge congratulations to both.

The first three males across the line were Kevin SAMBRIDGE (18:25 /new PB), Kris WHITMORE (18:27) and Darren JOHNSON (19:13). The male record is held by Ian KIMPTON who recorded a time of 15:07 on 3rd September 2016 (event number 15).

The first three females across the line were Nicola AMOS (20:51), Gail MACKIE (20:53) and Georgie HOOPER (23:33). The female record is held by Annabel GUMMOW who recorded a time of 17:39 on 17th November 2018 (event number 127). Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Stevenage parkrun Results Page.
