100 for Richard & Award Winners!

Temple Newsam parkrun
Event number 127
11th July 2015

Before we make a start on last weekends event we have to celebrate our award winners for June! So here goes.

Sweatshop 25.05.07i
This month our parkrunner of the month award and winner of a pair of trainers courtesy of Sweatshop goes to Joanne Hind! Joanne ran each week during June and managed to get 2 personal bests in that time.

Our Volunteer of the month award goes to Hannah Dent! Thanks so much for your help from all of us at TeamTN!

Some good milestones reached this weekend, in fact our first over the line runner Kristoff Boynton was celebrating his 50th parkrun in some style!

Huge well done to the amazing Tally Diamond - she brought up her 50th parkrun (+38 Junior parkruns!) this past weekend, just missing out on a podium position as 4th lady runner home. Well done Tally.

The big one (not in a physical sense you understand) was Richard Whitehouse. Richard celebrated his 100th parkrun which now means he will soon be seen sporting a new tribesports milestone T-shirt. Richard has run 92 times at Temple Newsam so is not far off his 100th run at TN as well.
An age grade record fell this past weekend as well, Geoffrey Howard from Ilkley Harriers crossed the line in 21:59 and becoming the first ever VM70-74 runner to go under 22 minutes. You can view the age category table here.

Going back to the milestone T-shirts, it is worth checking your parkrun profile - theres a link in any parkrun email you receive as the T-shirts are now starting to be distributed out via the online shop. Exciting times! Heres a little more information for you all.

12 PB's this week, well done if you managed to be one of the select few. I won't go into too much detail as being on course 'C'its difficult to judge it against regular runners times but having said that the two notable runs came from ... firstly
Andy Darby, he got ever closer to that 25 minute marker with a new time of 25:06 well done Andy.

Huge BOOM's for Sophie Cullen who having waited over a year for a new PB got her second in two visits this weekend, 24:25 for her this week, super running Sophie!

Many thanks as always to Bradley for being your RD this weekend.

well done to everyone who ran the Leeds 10K on Sunday, always a popular event and some good times posted - special mention to Andy Warrender for managing to get into every single picture taken! :-)

Of course we ALWAYS need volunteers - without people helping out we can't put the event on, its as simple as that. If you can help us out at all then please come and see Junior before the run next weekend and put your name down. The rule of thumb is if everyone volunteered just 3 times a year we'd never need to ask! You can see jobs that need doing by looking on our website here. Many thanks in advance.

Please don't forget at Temple Newsam we follow the same rules as parkruns all over the UK!

So until next week you can follow us on Twitter, facebook and Google+ if you are into that kind of thing.
