“Borrow a Bob” weekend!

bob-logo

Next weekend (21st of September) Temple Newsam parkrun are delighted to be hosting a 'Borrow-a-Bob' event where runners interested in purchasing or trying out a stroller designed specifically for running with children can get the chance to do so.

Simply drop them an email with your parkrun athlete ID number (found on your barcode) plus your child’s name and age at bob.uk@britax.com to register trying out a BOB for yourself. Please note that due to limited availability this will be done on a first-come first-served basis so don’t delay in dropping them a line!

For those that may want a slightly longer trial with a BOB, throughout September we are offering a 30-day money back guarantee on all BOB strollers, so if you’re not completely happy you can return your BOB stroller for a full refund. See our website for more details.

Mob Run 2013

Mob Run

This year the parkrun 'Mob Run' is visiting Temple Newsam parkrun on the 25th of May.

The event is a simple challenge for a bit of inter-club fun, for clubs across the region to see who can turn out the most runners, and who has the fastest average runners. Last year it was held at Leeds parkrun and this year Temple Newsam parkrun will be hosting the event. Last year Hyde Park Harriers claimed the most parkrunners and City of Leeds had the fastest average pace.

So spread the word and we'll see you down there, the team can't wait to welcome you.

You can join the facebook event page if you like, any questions don't hesitate to get in  touch:- templenewsamoffice@parkrun.com or Twitter or Facebook or Google+

If you are a club then please bring your flags and banners - the more the merrier! Lets make it a colourful fun morning out for all the runners.

Here are the results from the 2012 Mob Run held at Leeds:-

The rats are taking over the squirrels!

Kippax logo

This coming parkrun weekend we have our very first club take over, this is where a local running club takes over all the volunteering roles for the events from marshalling, pacing, uploading the results - everything! One of the ethos's of parkrun is to get people involved in running, and the best way to do this is via introduction to a club. If you have been enjoying your running and thinking of joining a club then its a perfect opportunity for you to come along and ask anything you like! This weekend it is Kippax Harriers, have a look at their website here, and you can also find them on facebook.

They are a small friendlily club of around 70 members based at Garforth squash club, there will be Kippax Harriers all over the course marshalling and offering support. There will also be quite a few running it too, as well as pacers and runbuddies for you. The Kippax ladies are baking this week in readiness, (yum, yum) and there will be cake given to every runner as they finish, They will also be giving out leaflets about an upcoming beginners group.

We hope you can make it this weekend and that we'll see you there!
