The Pastures parkrun Number 44 – Christmas Day 2019

Have yourself a merry little parkrun

Ho ho ho and Merry Christmas!  The Pastures parkrun today saw 52 runners and 14 volunteers brave the cold to enjoy the early morning festivities with the beautiful Alnwick Castle backdrop.

A host of tourists joined us from Maidenhead, York, Reading, Southampton and Newcastle Under Lyme.

The volunteers were the hero’s of the day and a special thanks to Jilly, today’s tail runner who helped spur me on with a 4yr old on my shoulders!!  Thanks also to the finish funnel team who helped us have a pretend finish.  Orlaith has been parkrunning in my tummy, in her buggy and in the carrier so she was delighted to finally do it herself (or at least part of it).

16 of today’s runners were with us for the very first time, you’re all very welcome and we look forward to seeing you again.

First man back was Oliver Telfer in 19:41 and Mel Steer was the First Lady to the finish in 25:13.  Times like these are often few and far between.

Congratulations to the 8 of you setting new PBs today.  Woop Woop!

Our event, as always, is brought to you entirely by volunteers.  We love to welcome new volunteers, there are loads of roles you can do, they’re really simple and we’ll show you the ropes.  You’re also guaranteed to get a warm fuzzy feeling.

Have yourself a merry little parkrun now </p>
