Thurrock parkrun Run Report event #11

Thurrock parkrun ~ Run Report event number #11 by Jo Wakeling
19th December 2015

36 parkrunners enjoyed the very pleasant mild weather this week for our last parkrun of 2015. Since the first Orsett Heath parkrun in October, we’ve welcomed 325 runners to Thurrock. We hope that the 9 First Timers and all the regular fellow parkrunners had an enjoyable run/walk.

Volunteer or run at parkrun you will have fun

Volunter or run you will have fun

We are very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen:Colin AUSTIN, Elizabeth COX, Julie FURNER, Michelle HOEY, Renae LAYBOURN, Ashley LOVETT, Ray MILLER, Ronald OBODAI, Julie RAWSON, Trevor RAWSON, Lucy ROBINSON, Emma WAKELING, Jo WAKELING, Jane YEOWELL, Shirley YOUNG

Without them we would not be able to ‘parkrun’. If you want to try something different, are injured or just wish to give something back to parkrun, volunteering is a great way to get involved, plus it is a great help to our busy Event Directors trying to fill the roster in good time before the next parkrunday.

It’s easy to do; just pick a role you would like from the Future Roster link on the parkrun web site http://www.parkrun.org.uk/thurrock/futureroster/   and email our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Julie, at this address – thurrockhelpers@parkrun.com

Enjoy a mince pie post your Yuletide run with fellow parkrunners then head home for presents and a well deserved Christmas dinner.

We’ll all be back at Orsett Heath on January 2nd.

Until then we would like to thank everyone who has supported Thurrock parkrun since its inception; runners, walkers and volunteers.                                                                 It’s fantastic to see everyone sharing and enjoying a great local community event.

We wish all our fellow parkrunners a very Merry Christmas and safe and Happy parkrunning in 2016. We hope to see you all soon.
