After two weeks of getting very wet and despite a dubious weather forecast, it was actually quite a pleasant morning for parkrun, despite conditions underfoot still being very wet and muddy.
Once again we had a very healthy nineteen volunteers filling the roster in good time, so thank you very much to you all, and we had an even healthier 27 juniors lined-up ready to run.
First finisher was Matthew Allcock in a time of 08:40, just seven seconds outside his PB. Second finisher was Bobby Morris who, despite finishing second this week after finishing first last week, did set a new PB of 08:53, eleven seconds quicker than his previous best. Third finisher and first girl home was Sophia Foulger.
In total, there were three new PB's set today, by Naomi Cox, Jacob Elliott (who knocked 23 seconds off his time in only his second junior parkrun) and Bobby Morris.
Well done to all those people and to everyone else who ran today. However, special mention must go to Lacey Beecher, who not only completed her 23rd junior parkrun, but managed to collect nine conkers along the way!
Thanks as ever go to the Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle for the welcome refreshments in the bowling hut afterwards, as well as to the organisers of the wedding across Wakefield Road for providing a fine performance on the drums by way of entertainment.
See you all next week. Don't forget your barcode!
