I was really pleased to be the RD for Tolson Junior Parkrun this week, as we had a lot to celebrate and a celebratory homemade cake to eat after the run.
The fair and dry weather returned today and made for good running conditions.
Forty juniors came to run. We welcomed two parkrun tourists, Maya and Samuel, and two first timers, Leah and Xena, to Tolson.
Before the run, we celebrated some very special milestone achievements. Billy was presented with his half marathon band for completing his first eleven junior parkruns.
We then celebrated not one, but three 100 junior parkrun milestone achievements, completed by John, Joel and James. Joel has run all his junior parkruns at Tolson and John and James the majority, and they seem to have adopted Tolson as their home parkrun now. All three boys have shown a tremendous commitment to running junior parkrun.
Zain was first over the line and the first boy home, with Catherine being the first girl to finish and Matthew, Oliver, Jakub, Alfie, and Martha all achieving new PB's!
After the run, runners and volunteers went round to the Bowling Hut and altogether we enjoyed refreshments and the delicious, homemade, specially decorated '100' chocolate cake.
It is very important to say a big thank you all our volunteers who help out at junior parkrun, including the Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle, who provide refreshments. Without them all, we would not have such a great event every week at Tolson.
Altogether it was a memorable parkrun and wonderful to have so much to celebrate and enjoy. Thank you all for coming along and joining in.
Looking forward to seeing you all again next week and #DFYBC !!
