Today's run is sponsored by Peppa Pig and her muddy puddles !
If anyone wanted to christen their new running shoes they received for Christmas - today was the perfect opportunity - with puddles galore, and mud everywhere - today's run was ideal to clear the cobwebs from the Christmas festivities !
This week 460 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 43 were first timers and 21 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 34 different clubs took part.
Thank you to the 34 volunteers who helped make our event possible:
Laura GROVE • Dominic BOULLE • Anthony LESTER • Mary STEVENSON • Caroline BROOKS-JOHNSON • Sarah BOULLE • John SANDERS • Mick BARSTOW • Tony FULLBROOK • Jim PURSELL • Louise BURGESS • Lucy CANNON • Christopher SHARP • Neil BROOKS-JOHNSON • Jill POPE • Catherine MOORE • Jamie ROGERS • James CURRY • Alan BENNETT • Juni RIPLEY • Matt BOTTEN • Stephanie RUEFF • Richard BARCLAY • Lena RUEFF • Willy SIMON • Sean MCBREEN • Val GOWIN • Carolyn PRATLEY • Ela BURNINGHAM • Andrew DARKINS • Rachel RICHARDS • Andrea PECK • Dan SMITH • Chelsea REYES-ORTIZ
And here's one of the lovely muddle puddles we all enjoyed!
It is always exciting to see so many people coming along, and especially lovely to see people joining in the fun and spending their Saturday morning in the company of fellow runners, joggers and walkers.
And a BIG welcome to all the first time parkrunners who joined us - we hope you felt part of the parkrun family.
Don't forget to join us at 10:30 on New Year's day and if you're feeling extra energetic - Maidstone parkrun are having their New Year's day parkrun at 08:30 so you could do two in one day !
We hope you will come back next week and enjoy another run and be on your way to that exclusive milestone shirt - remember juniors need to run 10 times and adults need to run 50 times to claim their free milestone shirt.
Speaking of milestones, congratulations to the following who achieved their milestones today:
A massive thank you to each and every one of our wonderful volunteers - from the pre-event set-up team, bar-code scanners, token sorters, time-keepers, funnel managers, marshals, pacers and tail walkers - you are all fabulous - for supporting, cheering, encouraging all our parkrunners, and staying right until the end to clap and cheer and support everyone to the finish line.
As ever we are always need volunteers, if you have run 10 time or more since the last time you helped please consider dropping Laura an email and letting her know when you might like to help out over the next few weeks.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org and Laura will let you know what we would like you to do. Remember every time you volunteer, you will be closer to your milestone T-Shirt.
