Parkrun # 127 – Spring is in the air
What a difference a week makes, we welcomed some warmer weather this week which encouraged 174 runners out for a 5km.
How we all feel about parkrun on a Saturday
The warmer weather gave way to 25 PB’s with a father daughter double with Nick and Ella Knight who were visiting from Colchester and had only experienced Tring in the summer.
Ella Knight on her way to a PB
We had 17 first timers with Caroline Burke from a new club of Smiley Pacers, we hope to see you all back this week.
Caroline completing her 1st parkrun
I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped when Diana Betts had a small tumble by Gate 2 on her way to completing her 2nd parkrun. It really showed how our parkrun family pull together to make sure we all get round the course safely. We look forward to seeing Diana back at Tring soon after her ankle has mended.
The stats of the week
1st time that we’ve had 4 juniors running who each have run more than 100 parkruns
Visitor Ella Knight ran her 128th parkrun, the highest value we have seen by a junior female
3 PBs in 3 weeks for Nick Johns
16 runners finished in minute 35 – the most crowded that minute has ever been
1st time we have seen the name Larry and 1st time we have seen 2 Elizabeths
We saw the Ashall surname for the 50th time
Paul Myatt ran his 100th Tring parkrun, the 1st male to do this and only the 2nd person to achieve this feat
Well done to our fastest female Tilly Green – Its 100 parkruns since she last achieved this, when she was our fastest female 3 weeks in a row
Only 2 seconds separated our fastest 2 runners – only parkrun 48 had a closer finish
Of those who've run 5+ times at Tring, only 4 saw PB improvements this week - Brendan Kingston (1:57), Sophie Swan (1:06), Yasin Mumcular (0:31), Cliff Morgan (0:19)
In the last 3 weeks, the fastest female times have only used the digits 2,3 and 4. Not only that for each of the 3 weeks, the 1st and 4th digits have remained the same and whilst the 2nd digit of the minutes has ascended 2,3,4 the 1st digit of the seconds has descended 4,3,2 – we like this type of stat

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning for another parkrun
