IMPORTANT – Alternative start point this week

As the Rugby Club is not available this Saturday (14th August) we will instead be starting our parkrun near the main Upton Court Park gates.

The start line will be on the concrete path, near the main gates on Upton Court Road, next to the small play area. The main car park is about 10 metres away.

There will be no toilets or refreshments available.

IMPORTANT REMINDER if you are attending UCp tomorrow.

Reminder if you are coming to Upton Court parkrun tomorrow.

parkrun is still following the Covid-19 Framework, and we ask you to read the 2 posters below and follow the steps. Covid-19 has not gone away!

Of course you are all eager to run again, but we cannot have parkrun without enough volunteers to support the event. If you are able to volunteer over the next few weeks, please email us at  Volunteering at Upton Court parkrun

THERE WILL BE NO PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE RUGBY CLUB. Please use the large free car park on Upton Court Road next to the main park gates. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get across the park to the start line in time for the run briefings.

DON'T FORGET YOUR BARCODE! A printed barcode is the only thing you really need to remember to bring with you on parkrunday. Without it, you can still run, but you will NOT get a result.

And finally, if you or anyone else in your household is not feeling well, DO NOT come to parkrun. STAY AT HOME!

We want everyone to be safe and to feel safe whilst attending.

IMPORTANT! Please read BEFORE coming to parkrun this Saturday.

Upton Court parkrun will be restarting this Saturday, 24th July.

Please note:

- Instead of using the old stopwatches and barcode scanners, we will be moving to using the parkrun Virtual Volunteer App for both timing and scanning. This app is used in several countries (and many UK parkruns) already and is very easy to use. Maybe now is a good time to download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store onto your smartphone and have a look and play. The following links to short YouTube videos show simply how scanning and timing is done using the app.

So, think about when you might be able to volunteer, send us an email and download the parkrun Virtual Volunteer App.

We look forward to hearing from you.

parkrun will hopefully be back on 26th June

Subject to the Government Covid Roadmap allowing it, it is hoped that parkrun will restart on Saturday 26th June - 1 month from today!

The core team at Upton Court have been preparing for the return, and are looking forward to welcoming you back.

Here are a few things to know in the meantime:

- As a new cycle path has been created at the top of the park, and some new extra wildflower beds dug and planted, we have had to alter our course slightly up the slope and in the North East corner of the park. The new course map and details can be seen on our webpage.  course | Upton Court parkrun

- We have received new branded hi-viz vests for the volunteers.

- We have been donated a portable defibrillator by Heathrow Airport.

- Joanne will be returning to make us teas, coffees and snacks.

We know that you will all be raring to go on 26th June, but we will need volunteers to make it happen. Don't contact us yet, we will send out a call for volunteers once parkrun HQ have decided that we will be definitely returning. The expected decision date is around 11th June.

For now, think about when you might be able to volunteer, and download the parkrun Virtual Volunteer App.
