New Year’s Day parkrun at 10:30am

We can confirm that UCp will once again be running at 10:30am on New Year's Day - 1st January 2020.

This will enable you to do a NYD double if you wish.  As usual, our closest neighbouring parkrun, Black Park parkrun will start at 9am.

Please note that we will not have a run on Christmas Day.

New Year’s Day parkrun (or two)

Do you fancy a New Year's Day parkrun or two to burn off the extra Christmas calories, clear the groggy New Year's Eve head, and generally start 2018 with a bang?

Well, you will glad to hear that once again you will be able to run a parkrun double locally on New Year's Day. Black Park will be setting off at 9am, and we at Upton Court will start at 10:30am, meaning you can run the double.

Since this event is always very busy, we ask you to park in the large free car park on Upton Court Road, next to Long Close School - Satnav SL3 7LU. There is very limited parking at the Rugby Club.

We also need a lot of volunteers. Please consider putting your name down to volunteer, or encourage non-running family members to volunteer.

We will not be holding a Christmas Day parkrun.

The parkruns on Saturdays 23rd and 30th will take place as normal.

New Year’s Day update

Just a quick reminder:

The run starts at 10:30.

Parking is limited. Please park at in the main car park on Upton Court Road near the bottom of Lascelles Road.

Update: Joanne from the rugby club will now be on hand to serve tea, coffees, bacon, eggs rolls etc. So, please take the opportunity to fill up after your double (or single) run.

Have fun folks and embrace the wet!

Out with the old, in with the New Year’s Day parkrun

There will be a New Year's Day parkrun in Upton Court park!

The run will start at 10:30 which will allow you enough time to double up with Black Park (which starts at 9am). Both are official parkruns and it's the only day of the year where you have the chance to run two!

The rugby club will not be open to serve teas and coffees as they'll be up late with their New Year's Eve party. However, we are hopeful that we will have access to their toilets and changing facilities. We'll update you on this nearer the time.

Please note that in order for this to happen, Derek will need volunteers. In particular, people will be needed to operate the timers, give out the finishing tokens and scan the barcodes. Please let us know as soon as possible if you can definitely volunteer then email - it'll be a good way to work off that hangover. Many of the normal volunteers (me included) will not be there so in order for this event to happen Derek will need your help (and yes, I'm talking to you).

See you on Saturday
