Today was Victoria's 250th parkrun-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! The weather was
just about perfect as the sun was shining in a cool 9 degrees. I had my
usual 12 minute wee jog down (unless I'm away touring) to enter the
grand reinstated red and gold gates to see a clutch of hi viz heroes
that made today's run possible. The 26 volunteer roles were organised by
G.P. Pamela McCabe and the West Medical Practice team. A big THANK YOU
to you all ! A good morning to have an ailment but thankfully no one did.Volunteers are always needed -message in or put your name forward
to the Run Director on your run morning for the following week...go
on,go on ,go on, as Mrs Doyle would say! Our R.D. was Julie-Marie Gordon
and she delivered a great run briefing with the new loudspeaker .I
reckon all 407 (wow!) of us that ran, jogged or walked today heard every
word.NB Please park responsibly and away from the gates & zig zag road
markings especially or the local council could revoke our parkrun.

Today I ran my 200th parkrun-a wee miracle in itself.I heard of parkrun
from Tim,my new acquaintance at the time & thought well that's for
proper runners ,not for folk like me.I was intrigued & looked into it on
social media etc My first parkrun was here at Victoria in August
2014-the week before I had looked on from behind a tree ...& then
printed out my barcode & plucked up the courage the following week to
actually try it. I was in my early 50's & not a runner... was this a bit
mad? I like a challenge
