This week's Run Report is courtesy Alison Cotton and her first visit to Walsall, thanks Alison.
My first time at Walsall even though it’s my birthplace. My regular parkrun is Dudley, 53 times which has a fabulous hill.
What a beautiful crisp sunny morning. I knew the course was flat so had a fighting chance of being able to get a PB.
Once in the park so many friendly happy runners and people who I’d never met talking to me. A feel good vibe.
The first timer/tourist briefing was in a great location. Great briefing from a lovely chap (sorry I didn’t catch his name).
The RD was very bubbly in his pink wig (for Breast Cancer Awareness month). He made everyone welcome and giving a fab brief.
The course is 3 laps of the park and flat. A quick course for those seeking a PB. It was helped by a fellow runner both helping each other as we both wanted to be in to 26 min mark and we did.
The marshals and signs where well placed to make it clear which way to go and with the warm rays of the sun along with good support from fellow runners and marshalls made for a very enjoyable run.
The finish was well organised.
I will certainly visit again. A great atmosphere, very welcoming, a good happy positive vibe and a good course. One to visit.
