What a fabulous morning!
I don’t mind admitting I was a little nervous this morning as to how it would go, but to see everyone again, albeit socially distanced, was fantastic and it was only fitting that we had a moment of applause for Ron Reynolds, who we sadly lost earlier this year.
The weather was good for running with none of the muggy, hot sunshine or forecast showers. 269 men, women and children took part, some pushing buggies, and it was great to see the enthusiasm and energy as runners tackled the course, supported by 38 volunteers.
Few people have been able to take part in any events for over a year but the challenge was met by all runners at their own levels, including 32 first timers as well as people looking for PBs and re-establishing Saturday morning runs as part of their leisure and fitness regimes.
The first-finisher was Dominic Smith, who set a blistering pace and hurtled across the line in 16:04.
We look forward to seeing you next weekend!
