event 239 nov 21st 2015 – Corrected results

Thanks to those of you who sent your times in. It has enabled us to work out that all positions from No 12 onwards were given the finish time of the person ahead. This has now been corrected. Apologies for the hiccup.

Hallowe’en – Event #236

We're fairly sure at least 150 runners set out this morning - but only 114 came back.  What happened to the missing runners?!  There were reports of at least one werewolf in the woods, and a deranged and dangerous medic lurking about... I hope the missing runners made good their escape.  Maybe the scare helped 18 of our runners to a PB!

As announced at the run brief, today is the last day of Sweatshop's sponsorship of parkrun - you can see more details on the parkrun weekly newsletter. As a result, at next weeks event, you'll have an opertunity to vote who should get the title of "parkrunner of the month" for October.

Paul, our Event Director, is raising money for Help for Heros by "running the date" this Movember. He'll run (at least) one mile tomorrow, (more than) two miles on the 2nd, and so on, all the way up to (probably not much more than) 30 miles on November the 30th. Please help his fundraising if you can.

And now some highlights from the results:

Female placings:
Cheryl SACKS (VW40-44) (Unattached) was first lady over the line in 21:30

10th October 2015 – Event 233

Good and not so good news at the Wanstead Flats Parkrun today.

Good news - Congratulations to Paul Martelletti on breaking the course record in 15.07 minutes.

Not so good news - We had a barcode scanning issue today which meant that we had to manually record finish positions. Unfortunately by the time we realised there was a problem, about 20 runners in the top 25 positions had already gone through the scanning process without their position numbers being recorded.
If you are one of these people, please email us at; wansteadflatsoffice@parkrun.com
giving your name, barcode number, finish position and If you timed yourself, please let us know what it was. We should be able to fill in the blanks in the results.

Many thanks,

event 232 Oct 3rd 2015

Misty morning but still over 130 runners today. Lovely to have lots of Orion juniors zipping along. Well done to Claire for the monthly shoe prize win and many thanks as always to the volunteers.

As you might have noticed we seem to have dropped a finish time this morning so those that finished before position 50 might have a slightly incorrect time? If you do notice this please email in your time and we will try to set straight. Thanks

22nd August 2015 – Event 226

A really warm day and a great turnout for August.
21 first timer's bringing it too 61 first timers in the last 3 weeks. A total of 122 finishers with 20 pb's.
Thanks to Kevin Carty for stepping in at the last minute for registration and to all our other volunteer's as the event couldn't run without you.
Any volunteers in the next few weeks will be gratefully received as we are short on the RD front also.
First finisher was Alex Day in a course pb of 17.27 and for the ladies, Natasha Dobson in 20.43. Congratulations to Keiran Brown on his 50th parkrun.

Lastly if anyone has any info on who is tweeting for Wanstead flats parkrun , please let us know. It's just a few concerns from parkrun hq on the right lingo and logo's to use.

Thanks and see you again soon.
Don Bennett RD.

The conditions were fantastic for running, and you were flying today, with 30 of you managing a PB - almost a quarter of the field!  A special mention to Conor ALLEN, who was our youngest runner to score a PB today. Well done to all of you, no matter where you finished.

We had a little trouble with the results but hopefully we have sorted them all out now.  Please let us know if there's an error and we'll see what we can do to correct it.

  2. Catherine PERRY of Barnet and District AC, was second lady in 21:38; and
