This morning would have been [is] our 9th anniversary. I hope everyone is keeping safe and trying to do a least some exercise
Well who would have thought we would go from a never cancelled event to no event in weeks [along with everyone else of course!]
This weekend would have been our 9th anniversary.
It would be fantastic if people wished to do their own [SAFE distanced etc] freedom parkrun some time between now and Saturday morning and post their results and a photo onto the Wanstead Flats Facebook page.
Tony and myself recently completed the annual course assessment and the veg around the pond will get a trim this week.
“All parkrun events in the United Kingdom have been suspended with immediate effect due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation. At this stage we have cancelled events up to the end of March. Please follow our communications channels for ongoing updates. parkrun’s global position is published and will be updated at this link here.”
stay safe everyone
Best of luck for Sat 22nd February for Ron Trotman's first Run Director stint.
We are looking for an ALL FEMALE crew to join Liz Worrell-Jude [RD] on March 7th to celebrate International Women's Day. If you would like to help, let us know.

On 13th January the BBC will be visiting Wanstead Flats parkrun to do some filming. They are interested in talking to a group of about 20 runners that are newer to exercise, on the 'larger side', are running primarily for health reasons, don't do any[or much] running other than parkrun. If you are interested please give your name this coming Saturday. You will need to stay about 30-40 minutes after the run.
