Well done to all participants and volunteers this morning.
This week 201 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 43 recorded new Personal Bests.
If you took away finish tokens 4 or 69 please return them and nothing will be said.
Unfortunately we will need to alter the course from next week to prevent this continued loss. The finish is to be moved closer to the scanning desks. You will need to get scanned IMMEDIATELY on finishing else no result. Sorry. This is in line with many other events including Bushy Park.
On happier news congratulations to those that were in the London Marathon Ballot draw this morning.
Reserve - Anna Mutunga
Second reserve - Andrew Howard
This year on Mondays. Would everyone like to have an additional run on xmas day? And again do the double with Valentine's parkrun on NewYear's Day [us at 9am them at 10am]?
If you took away finish token 144 this morning can you please bring it back. thank you.
For those that are First Aid trained in the first instance. We will conduct the first Defib kit training next Sat. Please let me know if you CAN'T make it?
Mollie, Sophie, Liz.
Please email in if you would like to also have the training if you are first aid qualified.
Will take place AFTER the run at around 10am
If you took away finish token 117 today please bring it back next week. Thank You.
Is there anyone that is good with needle and thread? Strikes me that if someone could come up with WANSTEAD FLATS x2 as patches we could once again use our parkrun flag which we have not been allowed to use since the sponsor changed. Ask me on Saturday. Cheers Paul
Sorry for the belated message.
A BIG THANK YOU to all who contributed to our appeal for funds towards getting a potentially life saving defib machine.
We have successfully raised enough money to get our very own heart starter.
see you next week
I have London marathon bits. You will get your t-shirt. passes and bibs etc on the day.
Coach pick ups from Wanstead flats at 6.15 and stratford town hall at 6.30. Don't be late coaches can't wait due to road closures at Blackeath meaning we MUST arrive by 7am at the latest.
If you are making your own way there no later than 7am please as you won't be able to get in without your photo pass. Same place as previous years. Blue Start.
Many thanks to all those who donated to the defib fund today - if you want to donate online the link is on the about us page on our website.
We need a total of around £700 for this, which works out at less than a fiver per runner on one of normal weeks - so please donate what you can. We'll be looking to get one of these:
It would be nice to raise the money by our 6th anniversary on the 20th May which is only a month away!
As of this morning 15th April we have raised £85. Five weeks till anniversary.
