Event 289

Warrington Parkrun 289 – 22 June 2019

Tourists Galore

This weeks event was a pacer event hosted by Warrington Running Club. We had 61 runners making their first appearance at Warrington Parkrun but only 20 of them were parkrun virgins! This obviously meant that we had 41 experienced parkrunners who chose this week to pay us a visit. These included Tony Preece 289 runs from Telford, Gavin Eyquem 280 runs from Marple and Greg Wells 247 runs from Swindon. Other runners joined us from all our neighbouring parkruns as well as from Wilmslow, Crewe, Rochdale, Clitheroe, Leeds, Sheffield, Hull, Peterborough, Crystal Palace (SE London), Bristol, Sheringham (Norfolk) and Braunstone (Leicestershire). Before the run, Mike Palmer introduced me to his sister, Angela Goodwin, who was visiting all the way from Auckland, New Zealand. Angela did, however, have an ulterior motive as she was going to Old Trafford to see New Zealand play (and beat) the West Indies in the cricket world cup.
