It was a chilly one and we had a rather curious first finisher in our midst too! Thanks for all your help with parking and change of route course; it all meant that we were safely able to go ahead and run on what turned out to be a glorious morning. (Our course was also deliberately slightly longer ... to prevent those false PBs! although 13 of you still managed to secure one!)
We had 333 mad people, who pulled themselves out of bed as they couldn't resist the temptation of a Wimpole sausage roll! We also had seven people who picked Saturday as their first ever parkrun, we have no idea why, but it was marvellous to meet you and we hope you enjoyed your snowy jaunt around our beautiful course.
We needed 25 volunteers; thank you to those who offered. I also promised the return of Volunteer Bingo - so our numbers this week were 11, 63, 67, 180 and 216. if you finished in those positions and match our guidelines we'd love to hear from you!
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Wimpole Estate parkrun Results Page. However, our headlines were that Maka led the field home and crossed the line in 19:01, just stealing the victory from Tom Beach who finished in 19:03. Zoe MacDonald was our first lady home, with a time of 20:30. Our fastest male junior was Luca McGrath (11-14) with a time of 20:54 and 10th place overall. Our fastest female junior was Sophie Kerswell (11-14) who finished in 26:23. Excellent running one and all!
We had a few significant runs ... Wendy Johnson, Amelie Kirchgaessner, Liz O' Donovan and Samuel Lucas, take a bow for joining the 100 club; Will Hallybone and Daryl Brooke do the same for joining the 50 club and Maxim Humphrey your shout out is for becoming our newest member of the junior 10 club (that's 50K you've run!)
Until next week ...
Debs & James
