We thought it was fabulous to be back on the hill and apparently, you agreed with us! Even with the Cambridge half the following day we had our largest field for a while with 396 of you taking part! Out of those 396, 37 were first timers with 9 runners completing their first ever parkrun. 40 recorded new Personal Bests and our PB shout outs are going to: James Thompson - who completed his 250th! and to Alfie and Henry Pipe who both managed to clock pbs at the weekend. It must have been a happy Pipe household on Saturday with only 17 seconds between them!
The event was made possible by 39 volunteers. Volunteers are the life blood of parkrun and we value each and everyone of you. Many thanks for your support - and there are always extra positions for those of you that haven't been tempted yet. It is worth reminding people that we are all volunteers - and all giving up our run to enable the parkrun to happen. Please do join us!
As mentioned we did have some significant runs this weekend too with James Thompson completing his 250th - Thanks for all the treats! Dean Rilley completed his 100th and Christine Downham, Damon Rainsford and Wayne McCulloch all completed their 50th runs. Excellent running all.
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Wimpole Estate parkrun Results Page.
However, our headlines were that Paul Begley led the field home in 18:22, and our fastest female was Fiona Tideswell who finished in 21:31. On to our juniors and our fastest male junior was Alfie Pipe (11-14) in 19:45 and our fastest female junior was Etta Salam-Browne (11-14) who finished in 24:24.
We will be back on the hill this weekend, and we will have a paced run again. We'd love to see as many of you there as possible.
Until Saturday ...
Debs & James
